Following SME client feedback, leading FX, payments and finance consultancy Affinity Exchange has launched a suite of business finance solutions to help UK businesses with their cash flow, grow, and remain competitive despite the often complex and challenging local and global business climate they operate in.
Available from this week, Affinity Exchange’s new core financial solutions are:
- Affinity Exchange Invoice Finance: Release funds from unpaid invoices as soon as they’re raised—boosting cash flow without waiting for payment.
- Affinity Exchange Trade Finance: Access funds to pay suppliers upfront or on terms, helping businesses secure stock and grow with confidence.
This financial product launch is in line with wider research conducted by Shawbrook*, which found that 78% of SMEs accessed alternative finance in 2024, up from 73% in 2023. Specifically, 56% reported using invoice finance, an increase from 48% the previous year.
While traditional bank loans remain a component of this picture, more dynamic products like invoice finance and trade finance are becoming increasingly central to how SMEs operate and scale.
Commenting on the launch and this wider business cashflow trend, CEO of Affinity Exchange, Sam Balla-Muir, explained:
“At Affinity Exchange, we work with businesses every day integrating financial tools into their broader growth strategies. As an international payments and risk management provider, we help SMEs maximise working capital, reduce friction in cross-border transactions, and help protect them against currency volatility. Whether a business is importing raw materials or expanding into new markets, we provide the strategic financial infrastructure that allows them to do so confidently.
Following consultations with clients about the challenges and ambitions they foresee in the year ahead, it was a natural progression for us to launch these finance solutions products to complement our existing client servicing.
These two new finance solutions are designed to expand the scope of how we support businesses, enabling us to play an even greater role in helping them achieve their growth targets, which has always been at the core of what we do.
Business finance products are no longer just a stop-gap measure, they are part of a proactive strategy to ensure scalability, manage risk, and stay competitive in a fast-changing world. The future of SME growth lies in smart, integrated financial models.”
