Gozney, the design-led outdoor cooking brand, has expanded its leadership team with four senior appointments aimed at accelerating global growth and an omni-channel strategy. Key additions include Mario Marte, former CFO of Chewy, as Chairman of the Board; Ryan Bateman, former VP of Finance & Operations at Amer Sports, as Chief Financial Officer; Scott Loeppert as VP of Sales; and Steve Hewitt, ex-CEO of Gymshark, joining as Strategic Advisor and Investor.
Strategic Leadership Appointments
- Mario Marte, Chairman
With three decades of financial leadership at Hilton and Chewy—where he helped scale the business to a $14 billion valuation—Marte will work closely with founder Tom Gozney and CEO Denny Bruce to guide Gozney’s evolution from a fast-growing challenger to a household name.
“Gozney has built something truly special. A brand customers love and products redefining what’s possible in outdoor cooking. Having worked on and led high-growth journeys at Hilton and Chewy, I see the same explosive potential here: a clear vision, massive market opportunity, a culture of innovation, and a world-class team. Gozney is just getting started, and I’m excited to join the team as we shape the company’s next chapter”, commented Marte.

- Ryan Bateman, CFO
Bateman brings nearly 20 years at Amer Sports, overseeing finance and operations for brands such as Salomon and Arc’teryx. He will direct Gozney’s financial strategy, budgeting, risk management, and growth initiatives.
“Gozney is an iconic brand entering a pivotal period of growth. The team is doing an incredible job to position themselves as leaders in the outdoor cooking industry and I’m excited to be a part of that future growth and disruption”, added Bateman.
- Scott Loeppert, VP of Sales
Formerly with Columbia Sportswear and Salomon, Loeppert will spearhead Gozney’s North American retail expansion, focusing on premium wholesale and specialty partnerships.

- Steve Hewitt, Strategic Advisor & Investor
As ex-CEO of Gymshark, Hewitt brings large-scale consumer brand expertise to advise on strategy and market positioning.
Poised for the Next Growth Phase
These appointments support Gozney’s transition from a direct-to-consumer model to a full omni-channel approach, fueling international expansion and continued product innovation. With over 200 design patents, a seven-year innovation roadmap, and growing presence in the U.S., U.K., and Australia, Gozney is set to lead the future of outdoor cooking.
