iplicit, the award-winning UK-based cloud accounting provider, has announced a strategic partnership with inventory management leader Cin7 to address what it calls a long-underserved market: SMEs in the wholesale and distribution sectors.
Together, the two companies aim to deliver a highly functional, true-cloud solution that unifies finance and inventory management for growing businesses — particularly those burdened by outdated or fragmented systems. The integration will combine iplicit’s modern accounting suite with Cin7’s inventory and order management platform.
SMEs Are Underserved by Current Tools
Despite contributing over a third (34%) of SME turnover in 2024, wholesale and retail sector SMEs have often lacked access to tools that fully meet their operational complexity. iplicit notes that many existing systems are either low in functionality, high in hosting costs, or reliant on legacy on-premises infrastructure.
To address this, iplicit has developed a specialist connector for Cin7, allowing the two platforms to work seamlessly as a unified, cloud-enabled solution. Cin7 was selected after a market review, based on its ability to go beyond entry-level inventory offerings.
A Strategic Integration
Cin7 brings together inventory, POS, e-commerce, and warehouse management into one platform, with native integrations into accounting, shipping, and marketplace services. The company supports over 8,500 businesses worldwide and recently secured a $500 million investment from Rubicon Technology Partners to accelerate growth.
Following the launch of its Channel Reseller Programme in 2024, iplicit has been working closely with UK accounting and ERP resellers to better serve SMEs in need of more agile and scalable infrastructure. The Cin7 integration will be rolled out to these partners in the coming months.
“Partnering with Cin7 is an exciting milestone in our ongoing product roadmap. A specialist in its field, Cin7 shares our passion and understanding of the value of high-quality integration partners to meet the evolving needs of SMEs in the UK today,” said Paul Sparkes, Chief Product Officer at iplicit.
“SMEs in wholesale and distribution have complex needs. As such, many have been held hostage on intricate, outdated on-premises systems that have been heavily customised to meet their needs, but at a great cost when we look at the time-consuming manual intervention needed. Our partners and their customers have spoken, and there is a real demand for a true-cloud, fully integrated solution to manage finance and inventory without any friction. Integrating with Cin7 will allow us to deliver just that, providing SMEs with access to two advanced, specialist platforms at a fraction of the cost and complexity of enterprise scale alternatives.”
Arun Kumar, Global Director Technology & Strategic Partnerships at Cin7, added: “Product manufacturers and/or sellers in the wholesale, distribution and retail markets have increasingly complex and nuanced needs, especially as they scale across channels and geos. Cin7’s vision of Intelligent Commerce and Connected Inventory Management squarely accounts for such needs. Extending this easy-button solution across inventory and financial management aspects through a fully cloud enabled, seamlessly integrated, unified solution with iplicit is a great value we plan to deliver to the market. Enterprise scale ERP at a fraction of the cost and complexity.”
“Cin7 is excited to partner with iplicit to serve the unmet and evolving needs of SMEs in the UK and Irish markets. Aligned with our open ecosystem approach and vision for a joint SME-friendly ERP solution to best serve this target segment, iplicit is planning to launch the Cin7 connector to deliver our joint value,”
