Pockets Debuts Premium Womenswear Collection in Shrewsbury Store

Independent heritage boutique Pockets has unveiled its first-ever dedicated womenswear range, expanding the Shrewsbury store’s offering after nearly 30 years of serving style-conscious men across the Midlands.

The in-store edit brings together pieces from international names such as Max Mara, Herno, A.P.C., Paige, and Ralph Lauren, with Mulberry set to arrive soon. The collection spans premium casual, smart-casual, and occasion wear, each chosen to reflect Pockets’ reputation for quality and service.

“It’s been a long time coming. We’ve had a lot of customers – their wives, partners, daughters – ask if we’d bring in womenswear. This felt like the right time, and Shrewsbury was certainly the right place. It’s where we started, almost thirty years ago, and I’m overjoyed with the response so far. It’s incredible,” said Paul Platt, Founder of Pockets.

Pockets has long been prized for its curated brand selection and personalised service. The new womenswear department aims to deliver the same experience women enjoy at leading city boutiques.

“We want to create the same experience for women as we have for men. Our boutiques are known for their carefully chosen brands and exceptional service, and I’m proud to have kept that ethos with this launch. Pockets is very much the kind of place you want to come back to, whether you’re shopping for menswear or, now, womenswear,” Platt added.

Since its founding in 1996, Pockets has grown to occupy over 10,200 sq ft of retail space and employs 30 staff. Early indicators suggest the womenswear launch will drive further expansion into adjacent categories like Aesop beauty and wellness.
