The Electric Car Scheme and Allstar partner to expand and accelerate EV charging savings for UK fleet drivers

The Electric Car Scheme and Allstar today announced a partnership to bring The Charge Scheme salary sacrifice solution for personal electric vehicle (EV) charging to Allstar’s 50,000+ UK business customers.

Salary sacrifice for home and public charging
The Charge Scheme enables company-car drivers to save 20–50% on personal EV charging costs via pre-tax salary deductions, delivering annual savings of approximately £300–£1,000¹. Users receive a charging card and mobile app that integrate seamlessly with payroll systems and provide access to Allstar’s network of over 67,000 public chargers.

Supporting drivers without off-street parking
By combining The Electric Car Scheme’s salary sacrifice model with Allstar’s extensive charging network (powered by Plugsurfing), employees who lack home chargers can still benefit from discounted rates and simplified mileage reporting, separating personal charging costs from business travel.

Case study: Europa Worldwide Group
Europa Worldwide Group, a major transport and logistics company, has already rolled out The Charge Scheme with strong results.

“For a logistics company like ours with team members constantly on the move, the ability for our staff to save substantially on all charging costs has been game-changing in encouraging the switch to electric vehicles. Several team members have already reported potential annual savings exceeding £600.”
Amy Gordon, HR Coordinator, Europa Worldwide Group

Bridging the charging-cost barrier
Charging expenses remain a key concern for potential EV adopters. The Charge Scheme tackles this directly by offering transparent, pre-tax charging through employer-sponsored salary sacrifice.

“This partnership represents a significant step forward in making EVs truly accessible and affordable. We’ve already helped thousands of employees access electric cars through salary sacrifice, but charging costs remained a barrier for many drivers, particularly those without home charging facilities. The Charge Scheme addresses this by extending salary sacrifice beyond the vehicle to include all charging costs. The response from employers has been tremendous—companies like Europa Worldwide Group are seeing immediate uptake because employees can save hundreds of pounds annually on charging costs whilst supporting their employer’s sustainability goals.”
Thom Groot, CEO, The Electric Car Scheme

“Allstar has long worked to support fleets to adopt electric vehicles and that means looking at every touchpoint and transaction and finding a way to make it seamlessly integrated into existing operations. We know that the number of company car users is growing year on year, with 840,000 employees paying company car tax in 2023/24, and it was important to be able to support this unique sub-sector through our partnership with The Electric Car Scheme, with significant cost saving options, ease of use and a convenient model to manage their professional and personal usage.”
Tom Rowlands, Managing Director of Global EV Solutions, Allstar
