Unicaja and DXC Technology embark on a decade-long AI transformation of banking operations

Unicaja, one of Spain’s leading banks, has entered a 10-year strategic partnership with global technology services provider DXC Technology to modernize its core banking operations through advanced artificial intelligence and automation.

Under the agreement, DXC will implement intelligent banking solutions that streamline processes, boost productivity, and deliver personalized, omnichannel customer experiences. The initiative aligns with Unicaja’s 2025–2027 strategic plan to accelerate innovation in customer service, product customization, and operational agility.

DXC’s scope includes:

  • AI-driven automation of document processing and routine tasks using generative and agentic AI
  • Virtual assistants to enhance customer communications and reduce frontline workload
  • Secure, compliant banking systems designed for evolving European regulations
  • Acquisition of FK2, a Unicaja Group subsidiary, subject to regulatory approval, to integrate a specialized banking-tech team
