The Women’s Super League Football (WSL Football) has taken a milestone step as an independent organisation by relocating its headquarters to a 2,500 sq ft managed office in Clerkenwell, London, provided by MetSpace.
A Flexible Home for a Growing Team
Since gaining independence last year, WSL Football required a workspace that could foster team culture while accommodating a dispersed staff. Key criteria included:
- Abundant natural light and open-plan areas
- Multiple meeting rooms for collaboration
- A scalable layout to suit varying in-office attendance
- Central location with excellent transport links
“After researching our options and consulting with our agents, we realised a managed space would be the best fit for our needs,” said Georgie Acons, Head of Business Management at WSL Football. “MetSpace stood out for its flexibility and the support they offer growing teams like ours.”
Moving into MetSpace’s Clerkenwell site gives WSL Football a permanent base to develop its internal identity, host league operations, and welcome partners and media.
“This is our first office since setting up as an independent company and marks a significant step in our journey,” Georgie added. “It enables us to build on the foundations we’ve laid for our own identity and culture. Moving offices can be daunting for a small team, so having a managed provider like MetSpace to guide and support us has been invaluable. We’re excited to settle into our new home and continue growing from here.”
MetSpace: Partnering on Growth
MetSpace, which pioneered managed offices in the UK in 1999 and now operates over 50 floors across Central London, tailored the Clerkenwell space to WSL Football’s needs.
“We were pleased to support Women’s Super League Football (WSL Football) at such a key moment in their growth,” said Ashley Diamond, Chief Operating Officer at MetSpace. “The top flight of women’s football is going from strength to strength, and finding the right workspace to match the WSL’s needs was crucial. It’s been a pleasure working closely with the team to provide a space that reflects their ambitions and values.”
