Altered Space secures Rocafella Leisure anchor at Cockhedge development

Altered Space, the North West asset manager behind the Cockhedge mixed-use scheme in Warrington, has signed Rocafella Leisure Group for a 25,000 sq ft leisure anchor. The agreement brings Rocafella’s new Slide Park—named Slidie Sliderson—to Cockhedge, reinforcing the development’s role as a leading family entertainment destination.

This partnership builds on Rocafella’s track record, which includes the UK’s first ninja park, Total Ninja. Slidie Sliderson will introduce an immersive, high-energy attraction designed for all ages, and is projected to draw an additional 150,000 visitors annually. By pairing this leisure concept with Cockhedge’s retail offering, Altered Space aims to boost footfall, enhance commercial viability, and support the wider regeneration of Warrington town centre.

Cockhedge’s masterplan also includes a 900-unit, car-free residential quarter, ensuring a constant local customer base and creating a modern, integrated destination.

“What drew us to Cockhedge was the clear vision for revitalisation and the opportunity to be part of a transformative development. The regeneration aligns with our mission to create unique, innovative, family-friendly destinations. The location is ideal for Slidie Sliderson, which brings a fresh, innovative attraction to the North West of England with never-before-seen attractions. We are keen to add to the local community and we will be creating 35 to 40 new jobs as well as looking to support local junior sports clubs by striking up strategic partnerships.”
Chris Hayes, Founder & Managing Director, Rocafella Leisure Group

Altered Space has overseen major regeneration schemes across the region, including Stanley Square in Sale. Cockhedge represents their largest leisure-focused deal to date and forms part of a broader initiative to revitalise Warrington’s town centre by blending retail, leisure, and residential uses.

“This letting to Rocafella Leisure Group is a fundamental piece of the long-term vision for Cockhedge and the regeneration of Warrington town centre. It perfectly underscores our commitment to delivering a commercially sustainable scheme that enhances Warrington’s town centre offering.”
Michael Brown, Director and Co-Founder, Altered Space

Further tenant announcements for Cockhedge are expected in the coming months as Altered Space advances its mixed-use ambitions.
