Crédit Agricole Italia and PayTech leader Nexi have sealed an agreement to renew their strategic partnership until 2029. Under the extended deal, Crédit Agricole Italia will continue to offer Nexi’s acquiring and payment solutions across its Italian network.
This renewal builds on more than three decades of joint activity: today, over 3 million payment cards and upwards of 100,000 Nexi POS terminals are in use by the bank’s customers. The partnership is set to deepen Crédit Agricole Italia’s digital‑payments portfolio, providing its retail and corporate clients with Nexi’s latest secure, innovative products and services.
Vittorio Ratto, Deputy General Manager for Retail and Digital at Crédit Agricole Italia, said:
“The renewal of our partnership with Nexi confirms Crédit Agricole Italia’s strategy of always placing customers at the core, by offering solutions tailored to their needs. The agreement represents a significant step forward in our growth strategy in the Italian market, through which we will ensure our clients continuity with the current model, along with high standards of quality, security and innovation. We believe that the payments market, already experiencing strong growth, holds further development potential, with positive impacts on the country’s overall growth.”
For Nexi, the extension underlines its standing as a go‑to partner for Italian banks seeking to evolve their payments offering. Marco Ferrero, Nexi’s Chief Regional Officer Italy, commented:
“We are very proud of the renewal of our partnership with Crédit Agricole in Italy, confirming Nexi as the ideal partner for ambitious banking groups focused on the evolving customers’ needs, thanks to its scale, expertise and best‑in‑class technology platform in Europe. Today’s announcement is also a proof of the excellent work carried out together with Crédit Agricole over the years, and an incentive to continue supporting the evolution of the market while investing in top‑quality products and services with the highest standards of security and innovation.”
The renewed collaboration will see both organisations invest in new payment technologies, reinforcing Crédit Agricole Italia’s digital roadmap and Nexi’s mission to drive the future of electronic transactions in Europe.
